La Liga rivals Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid will face each other in the Europa League final on May 9 after both teams won their semi-final clashes.
Athletic Bilbao sealed their place in their first European final for 35 years after beating Sporting Lisbon 3-1 at home in a thrilling second leg.
The Basque outfit trailed 2-1 from the first leg however they went ahead on the night through Markel Susaeta.
The home crowd were silenced two minutes before half time when Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel levelled on the night and put Lisbon 3-2 up on aggregrate.
Bilbao hit back through Ibai Gomez before Fernando Llorente, who had set up Gomez, sealed a famous win for Marcelo Bielsa’s side when he slotted home with two minutes left.
Bilbao will face Athletico Madrid after the 2010 winners, already 4-2 from the first leg, sealed their place in the final with a 1-0 win over Valencia at hte Mestalla.
Adrian’s goal on the hour mark settled the tie to set up an intriguing final.
