Allure Of Illusion misses Cheltenham bumper

Sportsnewsireland can exclusively reveal that the Willie Mullins trained, Allure of Illusion, who was trading as second favourite for Wednesday’s bumper, will miss the race, having been balloted out.

The once raced winner of a Killarney bumper had been seen as the Irish trainer’s big hope for the 2011 renewal. Having impressed with his easy success at the County Kerry track, he was then put away for the winter. However, recent reports suggested that he was to be the number one candidate of the Mullins stable. Despite a slight doubt regarding the horses ability to stay 2miles around Cheltenham, due to his turn of foot and high cruising rate, he had still been very popular with punters all week.

It now appears that the Mullins yard will have to rethink their plans and target the horse at the Punchestown Festival later in the season, after this mornings news destroyed their Cheltenham plans.
