Ronan Clarke has suffered another injury setback in his long recovery process back to the Armagh county panel.
The Orchard County All Ireland winning player of 2002 has been dealt copious amounts of injuries and has not appeared for Armagh since April 11th 2010. It had been recently reported that Clarke was finally on the mend and Armagh Boss Paddy O Rourke was easing him back to light training in order to be ready for the Ulster Senior Football Championship (USFC) coming up in June.
However, Clarke has been lining out for his club Pearse Og as of late in a bid to try and be fit for the USFC. In doing so, this decision may prove detrimental to his chances of securing a place in the squad as he twisted his ankle while playing against the Wolfe Tones last Friday in a league game. It is presumed that this injury will sideline Clarke for an additional week which cuts his chances of being fit for the opening round of the USFC against Tyrone on June 10th.
