Earley to make Kildare return

Updated: May 9, 2012

We will have Live GAA score updates when Dermot Earley returns from injury when he lines out for Kildare’s junior footballers against Louth in the first round of the Leinster Championship on Wednesday.

The 33 year-old played the full 60 minutes of a challenge match against Tipperary juniors last week and has been named in midfield for the Leinster championship tie at Newbridge, which will see last year’s beaten All-Ireland finalists put their provincial title on the line.

The two time All Star hasn’t started for Kildare seniors in nearly two years after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury back in 2010.  He has been working back to fitness following operations last year and made a brief appearance as a substitute against Derry in March, scoring a late point.

Kildare (JF v Louth): W Clinch; J Lambe, W Burke, C Fagan; E Fitzpatrick (captain), C Feeney, C O’Shea; B Lawlor, D Earley; T McCann, S Hanafin, D Flynn; G Duffy, C Bolton, C McNally.
