Alessandro Nesta says he will leave AC Milan at the end of the season and consider a move to Major League Soccer.
Alessandro Nesta has said he will leave AC Milan at the end of this season and consider a move to Major League Soccer (MLS). The 36 year old feels the pace of the Italian league combined with Champions League and Italian Cup matches is too much for him at this stage in his career. The 36 year old believes all the games are taking a toll on him which means he has to sit out a lot games. This is one thing the player hates doing and believes a slower paced league is the right move for him now.
Nesta has had a storied career at AC Milan helping them win two Serie A titles, and two Champions league titles. He was also instrumental in helping Italy win the World Cup in 2006. It would be very difficult for the player to remain an international squad member if he moved to the MLS but he has stated that he would be very happy playing in this league.
