Swim Ireland have announced a team of seven individuals to compete for Ireland in the European Senior Swimming Championships taking place in Debrecen, Hungary from 21-28 May.
The seven individuals who will represent Ireland for the European Senior Swimming Championships include; Karl Burdis, Bethany Carson, Fiona Doyle, Sycerika McMahon, Nuala Murphy, Melanie Nocher and Shani Stallard. The team travel to Hungary with hopes of qualifying for the London Olympic Games this summer. They will be competing in their individual events as well as the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay team.
Grainne Murphy and Barry Murphy have already qualified for the summer games and will not be travelling with the rest of team. Instead, they have decided to remain at their training bases in preparation for London. The team will depart from Hungary on 18 May with the hope of securing more places for the Olympics at the qualifications.
