Louth GAA squad troubles

Peter Fitzpatrick has been left with a long list of absentees ahead of Louth’s opening game of the championship. Louth are due to play Westmeath in Navan on the 20th of May.

Brian White and Brian Donnely have already left Louth to play football in Boston. CathalBellew and James Califf will also join them in Boston for the summer.

Louth’s regular full-back Dessie Finnegan will be on his honeymoon on the same weekend of the Westmeath game. His replacement would have been Mick Fanning but he is also out with a torn hamstring.
There are further injuries to EamonnMcAuley, Shane Lennon and Eoin O Connor. Shane Lennon is set to miss all of the championship as he recovers from surgery on a hip injury.

Fitzpatrick did receive some good news ahead of the championship as Andy McDonnell has postponed his plans to travel to America.
