Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini, is set to turn to his native Italy as he bids to bolster his squad for the forthcoming season.
Reports emanating from Italy indicate that Mancini is lining up a move for Napoli talisman Edison Cavani and that initial contact have already been made between the two parties.
With Napoli all but certain to finish outside the Champions League places in Serie A, Cavani will surely be tempted by a move to the Etihad, with the promise of increased wages and a chance to play in Europe’s top competition next season.
La Gazzettadello Sport is reporting that Mancini is willing to offer cash plus a player surplus to requirements, possibly Bosnian star EdinDzeko. Having been told by his international manager to leave Man City, Dzeko is on the look-out for a new club to ensure his international playing career will not suffer.
It is understood, however, that Napoli are only willing to accept £40 million for one of their most valuable players.
