Wicklow v Derry, Christy Ring Preview

Updated: May 12, 2012

Live score updates from Wicklow v Derry in the Christy Ring Round 2, Arklow, Saturday 12th May, 2.30pm

Wicklow will be looking to maintain their momentum ahead of their second round match with Derry in Arklow this Saturday after recording a stunning five-point win over Christy Ring cup holders Kerry last weekend.

The Garden County have a good record against their northern counterparts with three victories over the Oak Leafers last season and will look to make it four-in-a-row as they look to make home advantage count.
Casey O’Brien’s men were beaten in the final of the competition last year and will have high hopes of going one better this year with victory in Arklow on Saturday.

For their part, Derry recorded a deserved win over Kildare in the first round of matches and confidence should be high in the camp. Their manager, Ger Rogan, has no new injury concerns to worry about and will be looking to avenge their defeats to the Leinster men last season with a comprehensive performance.

With both sides on a high after wins last week, this should be an intriguing encounter, with little to choose between the sides.
