Clare will play Tipperary in a senior hurling challenge game on Sunday at 6.45pm.
The game will mark the official opening of the new hurling field in the Clonlara GAA club.
Tipperary may field an understrength team for the game as many club games were played across the county over the weekend. The game should mark the return of Seamus Callinan, Patrick ‘Bonar’ Maher and Donagh Maher after their respective injuries.
Since the loss to Cork in the league semi-final there has been rumours around the county regarding the return of Lar Corbett and Eamon O Shea to the Tipperary set up.
Clare’s Davy Fitzgerald has deflected any criticism from his players since the loss to Kilkenny and all the talk in the media has been about his outburst after the game.
James McInerney is still out of action due to a broken thumb and Conor McGrath has only returned to training as he recovers from a suspected kidney injury. Clonlara will have local players like Domhnaill O’Donovan, Nicky O’Connell, Colm Galvin and John Conlon playing for Clare.
