Lar Corbett has insisted that he needs to be ”fully fit” before returning to the Tipperary starting line-up.
The 2010 Hurler of the Year will train with the Tipperary panel this week ahead of their Munster SHC clash with Limerick on Sunday week.
Given his lack of training and game time since quitting the inter county panel back in February, his return to action is still some way off however.
“I am realistic what I have to do to get back to a level where I will be capable of playing for Tipperary again. We are talking months, not weeks,” the 31 year old is quoted as saying.
“I am willing to do what is needed though and I am delighted to have the chance to come back into the Tipperary panel,” the Thurles Sarsfield clubman continued. Corbett also insisted that once he got his pub “sorted out” and “a few other things” then he would always have wanted to return to the Tipperary fold immediately.
If the Premier County beat Limerick in that Munster opener on Sunday week, they will face Cork in the provincial semi-final on 24th June. This could be a realistic time frame for a return for the three time All Star, who looks almost certain to return in time for the July 15th Munster final, or the qualifiers should that be the route Tipperary take.
