Ronan McGarrity is expected to return to the Mayo senior football panel in the near future.
The Ballina midfielder has not appeared for Mayo since their All-Ireland semi final defeat to Kerry last August. However, McGarrity has since been training hard and exhibiting exceptional performances for his club. It is expected the player will return to the squad in the near future if not this week.
With the injuries to the O’Shea brothers Mayo have been struggling in the midfield department all season. They are lacking a presence in this area and it has been the cause of much concern for them during this campaign. McGarrity has been playing midfield for his club proving he is still one of the best on his day and his return to the Mayo side will be greatly welcomed. Mayo will face either London or Leitrim in Connaught semi final on June 24.
