Dublin ladies football manager Peter Clarke has caused controversy in the capital by leaving out two star names from his championship panel.
Denise Masterson, who skippered the Metropolitans to their first (and only) ever All-Ireland senior success in 2010, and Siobhan McGrath have been deemed surplus to requirements by county management.
Both players won All Stars in 2010 and other members of the panel are said to be decidedly unhappy with the decision to remove their names from the panel.
It’s believed that Clarke released the pair last Friday night – a decision that could lead to other players withdrawing from the squad in protest.
It remains to be seen whether the ructions in the camp will adversely affect the Blues Championship hopes this year.
