McNulty shows belief in Laois squad

Updated: May 18, 2012

Justin McNulty has kept faith in the body of Laois footballers who were already relegated this year from the Division 1 National football League.

The Laois manager has entrusted his players to bounce back from their disappointment of being relegated this year in the league. The Armagh man has stuck with the same squad of players for the Leinster football championship opener against Longford this Sunday. He will be using the experience of Padraig Clancy at full forward who will be joined by Ross Munnelly and Gary Walsh in the full forward line.

Former Australian Rules footballer Brendan Quigley will be joined in midfield by John O’Loughlin. However there is no place for former captain Padraig McMahon who has recently returned to action from travels abroad.

LAOIS (SF v Longford): D Culliton; C Healy, K Lillis, P O’Leary; D Strong, S Julian, C Boyle; J O’Loughlin, B Quigley; K Meaney, B Sheehan, C Begley; R Munnelly, P Clancy, G Walsh.
