Emmanuel Adebayor has confirmed he is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur about a permanent move to the club from Manchester City

The former Arsenal striker, failed to make an impact at Manchester City and with world class strikers being signed for the club he was let go on a loan move to Spurs. The Togo international striker impressed Spurs manager Harry Redknapp after scoring 18 goals in 37 appearances this season. His performances helped the club finish in the top four of the Premier League, which has been a huge achievement for them.

Adebayor has apparently enjoyed his time back in London and wrote on twitter; “Loved my spell at Tottenham, we are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!”

Spurs will be playing in the Europa league next season after Chelsea took their spot in the Champions League by beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final on Saturday night. It will be Redknapp’s ambition to make it into the Champions League next season and he will be delighted that Adebayor wants to stay at the club. He has expressed how much he loves the fans at Spurs and it will be good news for the club as they will need all their big name players in order to remain a top four club in the Premier League.
