Mourinho signs two year deal

Updated: May 23, 2012

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has signed a new two year extension deal with La Liga Champions Real Madrid.

The Portuguese man has signed a new contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club until 2016. The former Chelsea Manager had been linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea would not commit to giving Roberto Di Matteo a permanent role as manager. This puts the likelihood of Di Matteo been given the position more promising.

Mourinho has an awesome record as a manager and has won a league title with every club he has gone to. He won the La Liga title this season with Madrid after overthrowing the apparently unbeatable Barcelona. In his ten years a as a manger he has won seven league titles in countries such as Portugal, England, Italy and Spain. He has always stated he would like a return move to the Premier League at some stage in his career, but after today’s events this will not happen for some time.

This may come as disappointing news to some Chelsea fans who would be hoping he will return to their club at some stage.
