Fermanagh captain injured

Updated: May 25, 2012
Fermanagh captain Ryan McCluskey will miss the Ulster SFC quarterfinal clash against Down at Brewster Park on the 3rd of June.
The Enniskillen Gaels player suffered an injury in training last weekend in which he fractured part of his eye cavity.  The 30 year-old will miss at least 10 weeks, which will see him miss all of the Ulster Championship and potentially be ruled out of Fermanagh’s opening qualifiers, if they don’t win the Anglo-Celt Cup.  McCluskey left Irish Premiership soccer club Dungannon Swifts to rejoin Peter Canavan’s Fermanagh side earlier this season.

Meanwhile, Down full forward Benny Coulter will miss his first Ulster SFC since2000 due to a broken ankle sustained in a club game in early May.  Coulter remains optimistic about having some part to play in Down’s Championship campaign. The 2010 All Star is hoping for positive news when he has his cast removed at the end ofthe week.
