No Corbett as Tipp name starting XV for Munster opener

Updated: May 25, 2012

Tipperary manager Declan Ryan has named one debutant in his Tipperary starting line up for their Munster SHC clash with Limerick at Thurles on Sunday

Burgess club man Donagh Maher comes in at corner back having done well during the league alongside team captain Paul Curran and Thurles Sarsfields’ Michael Cahill.

The big news comes in the form of the big name players who have not been chosen.  Lar Corbett is still regaining match fitness and has not been included in the 26 man panel.

Tom Stapleton is picked at what has an oft changed right wing back slot with Conor O’Mahoney and Pauric Maher complete the half back line.

Such is the strength of the panel that 2009 All-Star Shane McGrath will start on the bench as Brendan Maher and James Woodlock have been chosen in the centre of midfield.

Pa Bourke has forced his way into the forward line ahead of Patrick Maher and Seamus Callinan who have both recently returned from long term injuries.

Brian O’Meara will need a big display to hold off Corbett for the future but he gets the chance at full forward with Eoin Kelly and John O’Brien playing in each corner of the forward line.

Tipperary (SH v Limerick): B Cummins; D Maher, P Curran, M Cahill; T Stapleton, C O’Mahony, P Maher; J Woodlock, B Maher; G Ryan, N McGrath, P Bourke; E Kelly, B O’Meara, J O’Brien.
