Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has said success in the Champions League is important for the clubs reputation.
Last season was City’s first Champions League adventure, but it was cut short as the Blue half of Manchester where knocked out at the group stage. The Argentinean won the Premier League for City with a last minute strike against Queens Park Rangers and has said he his hungry for more silverware.
“That was the first league title I have won in my career, now I want to win more, it is important for the club that we do well in the Champions League next season. That is crucial if we are to show we are a power on the world stage. I just want to keep winning next season.” Aguero said speaking to The Times.
The striker has also denied there are any rifts in the squad “We have always stood together. There is no problem with the squad, no lack of cohesion, anything like that. We are not fighting all the time. There is great spirit between the players. There is no better proof of that than what happened at the end of the season.”
