#Supportworks as Three joins forces with Richard Dunne to announce special Three on the Quay events for supporters

Three, Ireland’s largest high speed network and proud supporters of the Irish football team, has teamed up with Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne to announce the launch of Three on the Quay and call on the people of Ireland to show their support for the team by going green with pride on the 10th, 14th and 18th June.

Three Ireland’s marketing campaign “Support Works” focuses on the vital support fans give to the team and celebrates the role of Irish supporters encouraging them to go green with pride this summer. With over 220,000 soccer fans in Leinster alone, now fans can go green with pride at three free events for Ireland supporters at The Big Screen at George’s Dock, IFSC.

Three on the Quay is a festival of football for the whole family, opening from 5pm, with a host of entertainment; food and drinks concessions, penalty shoot-out games, a DJ, street performers, and face-painting. A limited number of places will be available on the floating platform at George’s Dock via 3football.ie.

As part of Three’s 360 degree “Support Works” campaign, Three Ireland is offering a range of tools for fans to green with pride including the 3Football App with all the team news and a limited-edition Samsung Galaxy Mini supporter pack. If that was not enough, the primary sponsors Three also launched a Three ‘Club Night’ competition for grassroots football fans, which gives clubs the opportunity to win one of six party nights worth €10,000.

Today also sees the launch of Three’s new TV and outdoor ad campaign Ireland featuring Ireland Manager Giovanni Trapattoni, Shay Given, John O’Shea, Stephen Ward, Kevin Doyle and of course Manuela Spinelli. The TV ads bring to life the ‘Support Works’ theme with our football heroes playing the role of supporter in some quirky scenes. The campaign also features a series of “Trapattoni-isms” focused on the big role fans play for the team; Trap says: ‘Ireland’s twelfth man. There is no substitution.’, ‘I make the team hard to beat. You make them invincible.’ and ‘You are the world’s best supporters. You bring your A-game to every match.’

Commenting on the launch, Richard Dunne, said: “Three on the Quay will be a great place for fans who can’t make it to Poland. The atmosphere will be electric and the team will know their fans are supporting them on The Quays. Fans should keep an eye on 3football.ie, the 3football App and Three’s social media channels as I’ll be providing updates keeping you close to the action this summer.”

Commenting on the launch, Sales and Marketing director, Elaine Carey at Three, said: “We’re very excited to be launching Three on the Quay and anticipate 15,000 fans will attend over the three matches. This will be a great finale for our Support Works campaign, which focuses on the vital role Ireland supporters will play this summer. Our campaign is focused on rallying support for the team and to bring them closer to their heroes giving fans the chance to show “Support Works”, so show your support and come down to Three on The Quay.”

As part of the campaign, Three Ireland has launched an exclusive limited-edition Supporters Kit. Priced at €89 the kit includes; a limited-edition Samsung Galaxy Mini with branded FAI supporters mobile cover, a watch, a ‘Support Works’ car sticker and Republic of Ireland football supporter’s pin. The handset is preloaded with two of the hottest football Apps; the 3Football App and Three Football Flick Kick game. The Supporters Kit is available from all 3Stores and stockists nationwide and online at Three.ie.

Three Ireland is also proud sponsor of ‘The Rocky Road to Poland’, recorded by super-group Damien Dempsey, Danny O’Reilly (Coronas), Bressie and The Dubliners (John Sheehan, Barney McKenna, Eamonn Campbell and Patsy Watchhorn). The song was written by Today FM’s listeners with all proceeds going to the John Giles Foundation and The Shave or Dye campaign for the Irish Cancer Society.

As part of the Support Works campaign, Three Ireland has also recently announced a nationwide competition asking football clubs around the country to ‘Go Green With Pride’ in the run up to Euro 2012. Supporters are encouraged to post their photos via a specially created App on the 3football Facebook page. The best six will win a Club Nigh on Three. Three will provide the bar, the bites and the big screen and will bring the action to the supporters.
