In the early kick off, Silvestre Varela scored with three minutes left to hand Portugal a 3-2 win over Denmark in an entertaining clash.
Real Madrid centre back Pepe, who almost scored in the loss to Germany, opened the scoring on 25 minutes before former Spurs star Helder Postiga made it two nil 9 minutes before half time.
Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner pulled one back before half time to give Denmark hope.
Ronaldo missed a couple of chances for Portugal and they looked to have paid the price for their inefficiencies in the box when Bendtner scored his second of the game with 10 minutes to go.
However Varela showed the Real Madrid how it’s done when he smashed home, at the second attempt, a cross from Fabio Coentrao.
In the night’s second game, Germany showed that they are a real force to be reckoned with as they made it two wins from two with a 2-1 win over Holland.
Two stunning finishes from Mario Gomez put Germany in control in the first half before Robin Van Persie grabbed his first goal of the Euro’s with a good effort with 17 minutes left.
However it was the Dutch couldn’t find an equaliser and will now head into the final game needing a big win and results elsewhere to go their way.
