The 2 sides played out a 1-12 a piece draw last weekend but Carlow will be aware that Meath will not be so generous and will need to capitalise on all their scoring chances this time round. It took a last minute goal to salvage the draw but by all means if Carlow had been more clinical with their finishing they could have very well won the tie.

Carlow boss Luke Dempsey was happy with his side’s performance “We really put our hearts and souls into it for Carlow. We are so much the underdog that at times you often feel when is the underdog going to stick the head above the wall and jump in the other side of the counties like Meath? Our players showed no inferiority at all and that’s what I was most proud of.”

Meath manager Seamus McEnaney was more relieved than anything after under estimating Carlow but will not rue a second chance at beating them and qualifying for a Leinster semi-final . Damien Carroll is the only addition to the Meath side to replace the injured Paddy Gilsenan.

Meath: D Gallagher; D Keoghan, K Reilly, B Menton; D Tobin, S McAnarney, M Burke; C Gillespie, B Meade; A Forde, D Carroll, G Reilly; B Farrell, J Sheridan, C Ward.
Carlow: TBA
