Ireland centre Gordon D’Arcy limped off with a calf injury in Saturday’s 22-19 defeat, and will return home with Ulster centre Paddy Wallace taking his place in the squad.
Eighthman Jamie Heaslip will also miss next Saturday’s final test against New Zealand after he broke his right index finger during the Christchurch. No replacement will be drafted in as Ireland has adequate cover across the back row.

There was some good news for Irish rugby fans as Captain Brian O’Driscoll and Mike Ross, who both sustained facial injuries, are expected to be fit for the Hamilton Test. Scans for both players came back “clear” which will be a boost for the squad ahead of the third test at Waikato Stadium.

After two tests, New Zealand have already taken the three-match series. A dominant 42-10 All Black win in the first test was followed up by Saturdays last minute loss in the second test in Christchurch where fly-half Dan Carter kicked a late drop goal to win the match 22-19 at a freezing Rugby League Park.

After 26 tests Ireland have yet to beat New Zealand, a record which dates back to the first match in 1905.
