Derby hero head eleven for Curragh classic

Investec Derby hero Camelot is one of eleven horses who have been declared for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh this Saturday evening.

Having landed the Epsom Derby in style, Camelot bids to become the first horse since High Chaparral in 2002 to complete the Epsom/Curragh Derby double.

The unbeaten son of Montjeu is one of six representatives from the Aidan O’Brien stable along with Epsom third, Imperial Monarch, who suffered a torrid passage in the French Derby,Epsom second Astrology, Daddy Long Legs, Father Of Science and Learn.

John Oxx is triple handed with Born To Sea, who was a staying on fourth in the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last week, the highly touted Akeed Mofeed and Call To Battle.

Jim Bolger will rely upon Derrinstown Derby trial winner Light Heavy, while Dermot Weld with let the Moyglare Stud owned Speaking Of Which take his chance in the 1m 2f classic.
