The Welsh wing wizard had been linked with a summer move away from White Hart Lane following the club’s failure to seal a Champions League spot but he has now put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2016.
Despite the club being manager-less at present the 22 year old was happy to commit his future to the club “The club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done,” said Bale, speaking to the club’s official website.
“I’ve been here for five years now and I’ve enjoyed every minute. I love the club and the fans.”
We’ve a good, young squad and we need to work together to get back on the biggest stage again.
“The fans have been great to me and I’d love to repay them and do the very best for them.
“I want to play my part in trying to get us back into the Champions League – where we belong.”
Bale has been with Spurs since a £5 million pound move from Southampton in 2007 and in the last two seasons he has emerged as one of the league’s top performers earning a place in both the 2010/2011 & 2011/2012 PFA teams of the season.
