Galway football star leaves panel

Updated: July 6, 2012

Galway senior football manager Alan Mulholland has suffered a blow following the withdrawal of forward Cormac Bane from the panel ahead of Saturday week’s Round Two Senior Football Qualifier against Antrim.

The Caherlistrane clubman, who was first called up to the Tribesmen’s senior panel by Peter Forde six years ago, has departed with immediate effect citing ‘poor form’ as the reason. He became a father six weeks ago.

Bane didn’t feature in the Connacht semi-final defeat to Sligo at Pearse Stadium last month.
