Nathaniel’s trainer John Godsen has confirmed that his stable star will line up and defend his King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes title at Ascot this Saturday.
It had been thought that the 1m 4f Group 1 may come too soon for the son of Galileo as he only made his seasonal debut in the Coral Eclipse at Sandown Park two weeks ago.
However Godsen, speaking on Monday, confirmed that Nathaniel will line up on Saturday and face the likes of Sea Moon and St Nicholas Abbey.
“As of this morning, he’s a runner. William (Buick) breezed him this morning and I think it went really well – William was delighted. I expect the ground to be on the easy side, not heavy, and I think it would be wimpish not to run.”
