Irish Olympic 2012 profile: Catriona Jennings

Athletics – Women’s Marathon

Catriona claimed the fourth qualifying spot in the marathon after she achieved a personal best in the Amsterdam marathon last April on a time of 2:36:14. She previously won the Dublin mini-marathon and has only ever run the full 26 mile distance twice.

Running for Rathfarnham AC, this 31-year-old Dublin based tax adviser was a promising triathlete and represented Ireland at youth level.

From Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Catriona is relatively new to marathon running and is the second person from the county to achieve Olympic qualification in 36 years. She is a sister of champion rower Sinead Jennings.
