Irish Olympic 2012 profile: Jessie Barr – Women’s 4 x 400 metres Relay

One part of a brother and sister team, Jessie recently made the 400m hurdles final in Helsinki but failed to make the necessary Olympic A standard time of 55.50, finishing fourth in a time of 56.81 – this, after she had reached a lifetime best of 55.93 to qualify for the final.

The 22-year-old, Ferrybank athletics club member is the record holder of the Irish U-23 hurdle title and has a bright future in athletics. However, she must look to Brazil 2016 before she can make an impact at this level.
