Irish Olympic 2012 profile: Eoin Rheinisch Canoeing – Men’s Kayak K1 Slalom

Kildare man Eoin lost out on a medal in Beijing after being held up on his final run which cost him crucial seconds but, more importantly, the bronze medal.

He will compete in his third Olympic games after qualifying in Augsburg, Germany on a time of 98:38 seconds and is a World Cup gold medalist and a 6-times World Cup finalist.

Eoin is a full-time and highly experienced athlete who travels the world for competition. He is a business and marketing graduate of Nottingham University and hails from Leixlip, Co. Kildare, where his local Salmon Leap Canoe Club is based.

He is currently in the form of his life despite suffering a shoulder injury last year and is a definite medal prospect. He is one to watch out for.
