Updated: July 25, 2012

SportsNewsIRELAND caught up with Kevin Breslin of John Mullholland bookmakers to see what were the odds on Ireland getting medals at the London 2012 Olympics.

First of all Kevin told us about the local Olympians form Galway “There are two athletes at this year’s games in Athenry’s Paul Hession and Carrabane’s Olive Loughnane. Both are outside chances for medals with John Mulholland quoting Paul at 500/1 for Gold, well he does have to beat Usain Bolt. Hopefully he can make the final at 5/2. Olive Loughnane is 66/1 to win gold and 16/1 to win a medal with John Mulhollands.”

When asked about the over all Irish total Kevin went on to say “Ireland in general will be putting most of our hopes on Katie Taylor who is 1-4 shot to win gold at London. In General Ireland is expected to win between 2-3 medals’ at this year’s Olympics if the bookies have it right. ”

How many Medals will Ireland win?
