Arsenal have continued their summer rebuilding with the signing of Spain midfielder Santi Cazorla.
The Malaga midfielder, capped 45 caps for Spain, has signed a long term deal at the Emirates for a fee believed to be £16.5million.
Cazorla was a member of the Spanish squads that recently won the European Championships and speaking about his third summer signing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said “Santi Cazorla is a great signing for us. He’s a player who will add significant quality to our squad,”
“Santi has good experience at both club and international level,” Wenger added.
“He’s a versatile, attacking midfield player who can play comfortably on either side of the pitch or centrally.
“He has good pace, is technically gifted and will be a huge asset to us.”
Cazorla, the 2007 Spanish Player of the Year, joined Malaga in 2011 and helped them secure Champions League football last season following earlier stints with Villarreal was delighted to be linking up with the Gunners saying “I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal. This is a club with great players, a fantastic stadium and huge support,”
