The Sun newspaper has revealed that Manchester City have completed the signing of England international midfielder Jack Rodwell in a £15million deal.
City manager Roberto Mancini has said that he still wants more new players — despite picking up the season’s first piece of silverware with Sunday’s Community Shield win over Chelsea.
Mancini said: “I liked Jack last year and for this reason we bought him. He is a good player who needs to improve to play at this level. But he is young. I think he’s a good player for our future. We are still looking for other players. We are interested in all good players.”
Rodwell is 21 years-old and has played for England at every level from U-16 to senior. He made his debut as a second half substitute against Spain last year, winning his second cap four days later against Sweden and has been a regular member of England squads since.
Rodwell joined Everton’s academy as a seven year-old back in 1998 and made 85 first team appearances over five seasons with the only senior club he has played before joining City.
