Aoife Clark led the way for the Irish team after the cross-country event at the Badminton Horse Trials, with three falls and a run-out effectively ending the visitors denting challenge.
Kildare woman,Clark, was the best of the Irish in 22nd place after a clear round on Vaguely North, despite suffering a run-out with her overnight eighth-placed mount, Master Crusoe. Joseph Murphy moved up the leaderboard by 19 places to finish in 35th place on Electric Cruise
However, three Irish riders suffered falls during the cross country phase and that proved a major setback. Elizabeth Power and Camilla Speirs, had to be taken to hospital and the former was kept in overnight for observation.
