Joe Schmidt was today looking forward to the massive challenge that will face his Leinster team this weekend when they face the mighty Toulouse at the Aviva this Saturday kick off 3.3opm.
Speaking ahead of the game a relaxed Schmidt, who no new injury concerns, is all too aware of the dangers that Toulouse will bring but is looking forward to the challenge. “In many ways it has been the perfect build-up, even the weather has been kind to us .But we will be judged on the 80 minutes on Saturday”
“I’m certainly happy where we are because we are in a position where 20 other teams want to be. Toulouse are in pretty good shape themselves with Dusautoir coming back. I think that will give them a huge boost”
Captain Leo Cullen echo’s his coaches sentiments and expects Toulouse to show why they are one of the premier teams in Europe but expects Leinster to use the experience of last year when they were beaten decisively by Toulouse at the same stage of the competition. “We are in a similar position to last year. Games like the one Saturday are won and lost on fine margins. We have to do the basics really well and just take our opportunities when they come”
Winger Shane Horgan like Cullen is expecting a tough intense game but insists that Leinster are hungry for revenge. “We were really hurt by what happened last year. We are very much focused on Saturday and getting the job done. You have to give Toulouse massive respect across the park. But this team will do anything to get to the final”
The Leinster team for Saturday’s game is due to be announced on Friday afternoon
