David Glennon makes Dublin SFC debut

Westmeath senior star,David Glennon makes his Dublin county championship debut for his new side St. Sylvester’s in this evening’s first round clash with Ballymun Kickhams at Parnell Park.

Glennon, the younger brother of Westmeath captain Denis, transferred to the capital from his native Tyrrellspass,after a job became available in Dublin. The forward won Westmeath SFC medals with his club in 2006 and ’07. Now free of the hamstring problems that have plagued his career, Glennon played at centre forward in last Saturday’s National Football League Division 3 final.

St. Sylvester’s have also added Offaly’s Nigel Dunne to their ranks. Together with Glennon and Louth’s Darren Clarke,big things will be expected from the Malahide outfit in 2011.
