London and Monaghan both registered victories in round two of the Nicky Rackard Cup yesterday.
With attention on the unique Connacht Championship game in New York this weekend, it was another exiles side, favourites London, who visited Louth and promptly hammered the wee county 6-20 to 1-10.
The Ruislip side accounted for Roscommon last time out and will return home delighted with this excellent win having scored 4 goals in the first half.
Monaghan meanwhile pulled off a shock when they defeated Fingal in a close encounter, winning by two points in a 2-12 to 1-17 win in Swords. Both sides had been given byes in the first round and a good performance by the Ulster side sees them advance in their search for silverware.
Monaghan were 2-9 to 1-7 down at half, with Davy Byrne scoring both Fingal goals however a strong second half saw the Ulster side through. Michael McHugh putting in a strong performance with a personal haul of 1-13
