Cork hurling fans are set to vote with their feet this weekend, with the county board today confirming that they expect to sell just 3,000 tickets for Sunday’s Munster championship tie against Tipperary at Semple Stadium.

Over the years, the rebels have travelled in large numbers to Thurles, and this had been expected to be the case once again on Sunday, but tickets have been slow to sell and the board now accept that the red and white flags and jerseys will be in short supply this weekend.

“Sales have been shocking, very poor,” a county board source told the Irish Daily Star.

With Cork having had a poor league campaign and Tipperary hot favourites for Sunday’s clash,it appears as if the rebel supporters are uncertain of what to expect and many will stay at home and watch the match on tv.
