The Kerry Under-21 footballers look set to have a strong backroom team in 2012 as they set about restoring their reputation. The Kingdom have much to prove after suffering a heavy Munster Final defeat at the hands of Cork last month.
Former player and selector Eamon Fitzmaurice, has recently been appointed as manager of the Under-21 side, and he has wasted little time in getting to work. It is understood that six times All Ireland winner Darragh O Se is set to be appointed as a selector to the team. O Se retired from the game in 2009, will take his first steps into management.
Dr Crokes trainer Harry O’Neill, who is currently involved with the Kerry senior management team, is expected to be named as the other selector. Fitzmaurice goes even further by appointing John O’Sullivan as the team’s trainer. The latter currently plays rugby for Agen in the French Top 14, and formerly lined out for Munster.
