Leinster hopes of completing an historic double suffered a blow when international centre Gordon D’Arcy was ruled out of the Magners League Grand Final with Munster.

D’Arcy suffered an ankle injury in the second half of Leinster’s stunning win over Northampton and was replaced by Fergus McFadden with 10 minutes to go of the clash.

The 31 year old has not been able to train all week despite wearing a protective boot on the injury and will play no part in the season’s league showdown.

Fergus McFadden will take D’Arcy’s place in the centre alongside Brian O’Driscoll.

Sportsnewsireland.com will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
