The Queen’s Derby hope Carlton House is fine and will run in Saturday’s feature race at Epsom.
There had been some doubt regarding the colts participation after it was revealed on Tuesday that he had suffered a minor setback. However,a source close to the stable has confirmed to Sportsnewsireland that it was little more than a precaution and the colt was back to full health.
“In order to keep the public informed it was decided that the scare should be reported to the press, but in truth it was nothing much. Carlton House cantered this morning and everything looks on target for the weekend”.
The colt traded as big as 3/1 on the exchanges at one point on Tuesday afternoon but has now returned to something like his original odds and only Boylesports are going 2/1. Most of the other high street firms quote no bigger than 7/4, as confidence begins to return in the Dante Stakes winner.
