Mayo footballers have received a huge boost ahead of their Connacht Championship clash with Galway, following the news that Ronan McGarrity is expected to return to training with the county tonight.
The midfielder has been out for the last ten weeks with an Achilles tendon injury but will line out with the side in Castlebar this evening. If the player comes through training without any problems, he would be in line play some part in Mayo’s semi-final against Galway on Sunday week.
Ger Cafferkey did not play in the local club championship at the weekend and is considered a major doubt for next week. Trevor Howley and Dermot Geraghty are also struggling with injury but Keith Higgins has recovered from a hamstring injury.
