Galway hurlers have received a huge setback ahead of their Leinster GAA Hurling Championship semi-final meeting with Dublin on Saturday. It has been confirmed that both Iarla Tannian and Ger Farragher will miss the match in Tullamore.

Tannian broke his thumb and fractured ligaments playing for his club Ardrahan five weeks ago, while Farragher has a knee problem for the last three weeks.

“Unfortunately, both Ger and Iarla won’t be able to start due to their injuries,” manager John McInyre said in The Irish Examiner.

“They just haven’t made enough progress from their injuries to be able to last 70 minutes in a championship match. And at this point we don’t know if we will be able to bring them on at any stage of the match.”
