Contary to early reports Laois manager Brendan Fennelly has not resigned as manager of the county Hurlers following his side’s heavy defeat at the hands Cork this afternoon in Portlaoise.

Fennelly watched on his horror as his side conceded 10 goals on their way to a 10-20 to 1-13 defeat, as soon after it was reported that the 34 defeat had proved too much for the Kilkenny man who had decided to resign from the role.

However Sportsnewisreland can reveal that Fennelly, who has only been in the job 9 month having succeeded Niall Rigney as Laois manager ago will remain in charge for the foreseeable future

Sportsnewsireland.com will have live score updates on all GAA Championship matches over the summer.
