Dublin midfielder Michael Macauley has emerged as a major doubt ahead of the Leinster SFC semi-final clash against Kildare next Sunday.
The Ballyboden St Enda’s star is struggling with a foot injury and was forced to sit out Dublin Blues v Whites challenge match at St. Anne’s on Saturday.
Manager Pat Gilroy explained: “Michael has a problem with his foot, it’s swollen. We don’t know what it is just yet as it only showed up on Friday.
“He can’t remember getting a knock on it and we got it X-rayed but nothing showed up on that. Hopefully it will settle down by the weekend.”
If Macauley is ruled out of the Kildare game, Gilroy will look to replace him with either Eamon Fennell or Ross McConnell, both of whom have returned recently from injury.
