Seamus Heffernan has been confirmed as the jockey for So You Think in Saturday’s Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown Park.

Heffernan rode the former Australian star on his European debut, but Ryan Moore has done the steering on his last two outings. The latest run was a shock defeat by Rewilding in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier this month. However, with Moore opting to partner Derby and Arc winner Workforce for his boss Sir Michael Stoute, Heffernan renews his partnership with So You Think.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien’s wife Anne-Marie confirmed via Twitteron Thursday morning “So You Think will be declared this morning for the Eclipse on Saturday and Seamus Heffernan will be declared to ride him.”

O’Brien blamed himself for So You Think’s Royal Ascot defeat, putting the defeat down to “trainer error”.

“I will take responsibility for this personally. After he won his first two races so easily I had gone easy on him. It was a big step up on his last two races. He ran keen for the first two furlongs with Ryan and it was a strong-run race. He went and won his race but just got very tired in the last half a furlong.”
