Celtic boss Neil Lennon has admitted that the Glasgow club cannot afford to sign Reading striker Shane Long.
The Scottish side have been linked with a summer move for the Tipperary man, but Lennon said that the £7million asking price is too high.
“You’re talking £7million and that is out of our remit,” he said.
The Bhoys have managed to sign Kenyan Victor Wanyama from Belgian side Beerschot, and the manager is well pleased with that deal:
“He’s very powerful, quick and good on the ball. He will not cost a lot of money and there is a feeling we can develop him into a really good player.
“People talk about him as a midfielder, but we see him more as a central defender.”
