35mins: A brilliant point blank save somehow denies Galway a fourth goal, But Canning points from 45. Conor McGrath cores his second point in five minutes but Farrragher goes right up the other end to make the half time score 3-13 to 0-12.

30mins: Superb goal from Canning, strenght, composure and skill all to the fore as he shrugs off O’Connell and fires it into the net from an acute angle on the right. A goal good enough to settle this game.
28mins: Another fine score for Damien Hayes. Both teams look content to trade scores as neither defence is able to get tight enough to change matters. Galway will be quite happy with that.
24mins: That man Canning again, this time its an enormous sideline cut that nearly clears the terrace behind the goal. Nicky O’Connell replies immediately at the other end with his third point of the game.

19 -21 mins. There’s an eerie atmosphere in the ground. The crowd are struggling to get excited but Farragher has briefly raised the spirits.. and another white flag. 2mins: The game (and clare defenders) seemed to slow to a crawl temporarily and Joe Canning almost made amends but rattled off the crossbar.
