Despite interest from a number of clubs Championship outfit Reading are holding firm for £10 million pounds for Irish international Shane Long if he is to leave the club.

The club have confirmed that they have received bids from four Premier League clubs for Long but are not willing to go below the valuation that they have for the player. It is believed that the four clubs after Long are West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Newcastle United and Sunderland.

The Tipperary native was in fine form for Reading last season scoring 25 goals for the Royals as the narrowly missed out on promotion but his performances alerted a number of clubs to his talent and it would be a huge surprise if he is not with a Premier League club when the new season kicks off.
