Gael Clichy has arrived at Eastlands to finalise the remaining details over his proposed move to Manchester City from Arsenal after he completed his medical in a private Manchester hospital earlier this afternoon.
The French full back has long been a target for Roberto Mancini and it would appear that he is very close to getting his man with only personal terms left to discussed between the two parties. Clichy has one year left on his contract with Arsenal and it is understood that he has no desire to remain at the Emriates.
The 25 year old’s move to City would all but confirm the end of Wayne Bridge’s time at the club. It also indicates how under whelming the £19m spent on Aleksandar Kolarov has proved to be. Clichy could be the first of two Arsenal to swap London for Manchester as City are also fighting to bring play maker Samir Nasri to Eastlands too.
It would appear that Nasri, like Clichy has become disillusioned by a number of barren seasons that Arsenal have had in the recent past and it would appear that he will joing Clichy in searching for a new challenge at a new club next season.
